Coronavirus state tracker: 140 new deaths in California on Sept. 1
According to the California COVID-19 statewide update between Sunday and Monday, there were 29 fewer hospitalizations due to confirmed COVID-19 and 29 fewer cases in intensive care units.
The number of COVID-19 diagnostic test results in California reached a total of 11,470,696, an increase of 97,391 tests since Sunday. The rate of positive tests over the last 14 days is 5.3 percent.
According to SCNG research of all California county health dashboards there were approximately 5,496 new confirmed cases Tuesday. Numbers do not represent true day-over-day change as these results include cases from prior to yesterday. The total number of deaths is 13,123, an increase of 140 from Monday.
Of the 140 new deaths reported Tuesday, 45 were in Los Angeles County, 27 in Fresno County and 20 in San Bernardino County.
